What does it mean when the internet is not just real but is also an icon, and a symbol? Five thought provoking global stories of the internet as a place you drive to, asynchronous occasion, as an intermediate destination without keyboard, interface or electricty, that comes to you, the internet as an imagined space and last but not least the internet as an offering to the afterlife. Wonderful.
Very interesting video! I found it particularly interesting that internet is used as offerings for the afterlife! We spend so much time online these days. Maybe that is a fitting offering. Our digital lives are as much a part of us as our physical life. Making provisions to pass it on to heirs is also something to be thought about - like a digital legacy.

Thank you very much for your comment. Genevieve Bell is definitely worth seeking out as an anthropologist who looks at the intersection of our life with technology and digital means of communication. I'm not sure that I see a difference between my 'digital' and 'physical'. I don't think that digital technology fundamentally changes our behaviour but it does amplify and augment the existing behaviours that we already exhibit.
